Recovery massages aim to improve circulation and promote muscular and general relaxation. I spend more on areas more stressed in recent activity. A ‘body flush’ is a 30 minute recovery massage that’s used for recovery purposes when the athlete only needs either lower or upper torso recovery session.

While there are specific benefits to the 60 minute massage,  I have found that the 30 minute session helps the athlete be more consistent with the frequency needed to stabilize the body during intense training cycles. The 60 minute massage has unsurpassed benefits when you find a massage therapist who knows your sport and understands the stress that athletes put on their bodies during peak training periods.  A training season is defined by how well your body consistently performs during your intense work and recovery cycles.  The 60 minute massage more thoroughly addresses both the standard need of care during these cycles, as well as the specific needs of the individual athlete, and is a key component to a successful, injury-free training season.

Restorative Injuries and debilitating conditions occur with unfortunate regularity in both amateur and professional athletes.  Even minor conditions can hamper athletic performance and can lead to more serious injury if left unchecked.  Restorative massages are intended to resolve or assist the athlete with such conditions.  The main goal of remedial massage is to restore the athlete to a pre-injury level of physical and psychological fitness, and perhaps even exceed the previous level of fitness to avoid future injuries.
